My Last Cultural Festival at Saint Patrick's.

Cultural Festival 2013
The maori group was first. I lead it and it felt good. I felt butterflies when I started dougieing, we got ready in room eight and had to walk up to the hall in the rain, it was the best night of the year, we were closed by the hip hop group, I felt furious as i would be in a war, It was powerful and I felt free, It was cold.

We walked together as one, together as a family to the hall to open up the magic of the 2013 Cultural Festival.

As I walked up onto  the stage and lead this years haka I not only felt a little bit shy. I slapped myself like I have never done before and to do that I had to make myself feel like I was in the war and was very furious. I had like my brothers at the back and beside me to support me by giving it all our best “BLAH!!!” we all said at the loudest we could to end the Maori group. The crowd gave us a loud cheer and a hand. The Samoan group was doing their dance and I was up next in the Tongan group. I splashed a lot of oil upon me ready for a load of money to help for the school. I forgot to take of my socks and so I was careful not to fall over. It was an instrumental part of the song near to the end and so Taniela and I started dougieing. I felt free and confident that I did that and when we left my parents were proud of me. I stayed until all the performance were finished to show my support for my fellow friends.

The Wave Pools

During my holidays I had the chance to go for a swim at the wave pools in Papakura. I was looking forward for the pools as my experienced cousins were filling me up about how fantastic it is to be in the waves and to slide down the curving, twisted, slippery, hydroslide.

We arrived at the pools with my Uncle and cousins knowing by the look of how much cars were outside could tell us that it would be bursting with people inside. As we entered to the receptionist it looked like our prediction was true seeing that a lot of people were playing with the giant waves that could lift them up high.

The pools there wasn't for free to walk in and swim nor the hydroslide and so my Uncle was paying for the bands that we had to wear. On the counter there was more than two colours all for different reasons.

As we were walking I was excited and so were my cousins but they were more like hyperactive. I had a shower before hopping in the pools so that I could get wet and warm. My cousins were super excited about the slide that they raced to the hydroslide and up the stairs and down the slide and they repeated a few times before they took a rest in the pools.

What I was doing was fun just relaxing and the waves were pushing me. It wasn't calm as there was a lot of people in a small pool and there were still more to come. There was another area that was connected to a pool where the force of the water would push you around in circles and so I played with some other boys.

A while later we felt hungry and so we left to get some food. We didn't want to waste some money and so we journeyed home wishing for another swim.

Blue Ringed Octopus

Blue Ringed Octopus
The Blue Ringed Octopus belongs to the Octopodidae family. Other creatures that belongs to this family are the Benthoctopus. Other Octopuses are venomous but only the Blue Ringed Octopus is known for the its deadly venom which is harmful to humans. The octopuses that belong to this family are similar to each other because their size small.

The name Blue Ringed Octopus was from the blue circles around its body which can help it camouflage in its natural habitat, which is the coral reefs throughout the Pacific to the Indian Oceans which comes from Japan down to Australia.

like all Octopuses the Blue Ringed Octopus have no bones which allows them to squeeze through small and tight places. The only solid part of their body is there beak and there mouth at the center of their arms.

When swimming the Blue ringed Octopus swims head first with there arms trailing behind and because using their mouth they inhale water then releases the water which pushes them. Instead of swimming it mostly crawls and has its own layer.

The Blue Ringed Octopus survives (Its Diet) on little small hermit crabs and shrimp. It can also feed on fish if they can catch them. To capture its prey to eat, it pounces onto it reaching out its arms to pull it towards its mouth. Then it uses its beak to pierce through the tough skeleton then introducing the venom. The venom will paralyzes the muscles then the octopus rips away the shell and feds on its blood.
If the Blue Ringed Octopus feels scared it is similar to a chameleon because when it fears of something like its predators it changes into a different colour but its blue rings remains which can blend in with the coral reefs.

A Cure for Rubbish

As an Intermediate student I disagree to the statement being said about starting school for at 8:30 which would start difficulties for not only parents but for my siblings and even myself.

Firstly In my family I am not an only child which means my parents would have to take two trips for my siblings and I. Unfortunately that would make life harder for my parents and also for the cost of petrol they wouldn't want to go to the gas station every now and then to get petrol.

My siblings are only 8 and 3 they would have to be superfast to get ready and it takes them almost half and hour to get ready which would mean them getting up 30 minutes earlier than before. Also they wouldn't be awake they would be sleepy which could make them fall asleep during class.

If my siblings work out then my parents would have to wake up even earlier because like everyone knows lunch doesn't make itself. My parents are used to a routine leaving at 8:30 because its best to be at school with other people than yourself.

So I disagree to starting school at 8:30 because my younger siblings won't be up for a tough challenge (they won’t handle it) and my parents wouldn't want to wake up earlier than they use to wake up.

My One Love, One Heart My Mum

My Mum is the best mum you could ever find in this whole universe. Without her my life wouldn't be complete. She is the full 100% of me because she is what keeps my heart pumping because she’s in that place in my heart forever. There are times when I am told off but only for the sake of keeping me well because she cares for me and love’s me that she will do anything for me and so would I for her. I really wouldn't know what to do with my life but I know one thing that I will beg or do anything just to see her precious smile and face because I owe myself for her for giving me a life and for making my life happy and so I give all my credit of success in life from what I received from her. I love my mum so much I wish for something more than love for her.
